The erection of the Midsummer Pole on Midsummer Eve at Villa Tallbacka. Särkisalo's traditional midsummer event was started in 1990. The event is a tribute to the archipelago tradition and is aimed at the whole family. The Midsummer Pole is decorated with wildflowers. The pole remains in place throughout the summer. The inaugural Midsummer celebration attracts people from a wide area, as there are no other Midsummer celebrations in the Salo region. The event is also a very popular gathering for summer residents of the area, who come to celebrate the start of the midsummer festival from the nearby archipelago.
